About Setauket, NY
The census-designated place (CDP) and hamlet of Setauket is part of Suffolk County's Town of Brookhaven. It lies along Long Island's North Shore, and together with East Setauket, it had a population of 15,477 in 2010. Founded in 1655, the CDP was once part of the Setauket-East Setauket CDP. The split came in 2020, thus separating the hamlet from the CDP of East Setauket. This agricultural community was also once the regional center of activity when the American Revolutionary War broke out.
