The clocks in vehicles are set to local time, so they may be off by several hours if you're driving across time zones. You can use this guide to adjust your vehicle's clock without having to take it to a mechanic or electronics store.

Push and Hold the Clock Adjustment Button

The most important step to adjusting your car clock is to push and hold the clock adjustment button. Depending on your vehicle, you may have to press the button for a few seconds or rotate the set knob. After this, wait several seconds before continuing with Step 2.

While holding down the adjustment button, turn on your car's ignition and look at the time displayed on your dashboard display screen or instrument panel. This should display what time it actually is in 24-hour format (military time). If it does not show this information, skip ahead to Step 4 below.

Set The Right Time

Once the clock setting is correct, turn the button or knob to set the time. Most clocks have four buttons-one for each hour and one for each minute. If you are using a button to set your car clock, press it twice if you need to change both hours and minutes at once. For example, if your car clock reads "6:30," but should be "6:15," press the hour button twice (six clicks). This will change both hours from six to five and minutes from thirty seconds past 6 p.m., or 6:30 p.m., back to fifteen seconds past 5 p.m., or 5:15 p.m.

If you want only your hour changed (as opposed to both), hold down that button until you see what time appears on your car's digital display screen or analog dials in front of your face; let go when done adjusting that one part of the display screen so that it doesn't keep scrolling through numbers until someone else presses another button!

Release The Button

Once you have the correct time, press and hold the clock button for a few seconds. When you release it, your new time should be set. If it takes more than a few tries to update, double-check that you've entered all of the digits correctly by pressing and releasing each digit as you input them-and don't be afraid to try using different fingers or hands! You'll eventually get it right!

If your new time still doesn't appear after several attempts, then book an appointment at the Volvo Service Center to get it checked. The car clock is an important part of your vehicle, so it's important to understand how to adjust the time on your dashboard. Remember that this process may vary between manufacturers and models. Always double-check with your owner's manual before making any changes!
